Sheffield Karate Club
What We Do
We teach Functional Karate and Self Protection with a focus on what works. Our core is based around the principles of Wado Ryu Karate, however, we are not limited by style and as such have people from all backgrounds including Shotokan Karate train with us. The founder has cross trained in various combat systems and this is reflected in the training sessions. Whatever your reasons for wanting to learn Karate, our aim is to help you achieve your goals in an encouraging and inclusive environment. Adults and children are welcome and we often have family members training together. .
Wado Ryu
Wado Ryu is a fast and evasive style of karate. A blend of Okinawan Karate and Japanese Jujutsu, Wado Ryu contains many striking techniques, locks, takedowns, and throws. Heavily influenced by JuJutsu, Wado Ryu uses the opponent’s body mechanics against them making it a functional Martial Art for all ages and abilities.
Kids Karate Classes
Our Little Ninja classes consist of fun-based learning that promotes good balance, timing, coordination and confidence building. These classes include learning-based games as well as introducing children to Karate techniques and principles such as respect.
