Class Overview
We teach functional, practical Karate with a focus on self protection. Our training incorporates principles of Wado Ryu Karate which is heavily influenced by Japanese jujutsu. We are an open club that welcomes new members as well as people with backgrounds in other styles of Karate and martial arts.
Our Karate consists of striking, impact drills, partner work, locks, takedowns, and throwing techniques, making it a functional and practical Martial Art for all ages and abilities…
Lessons Include:
The karate lessons generally consists of the following:
- Light warm-up
- Stretches
- Karate techniques
- Pad work
- Partner work
- Kata
- Kata’s fighting applications – bunkai
- Sparring
Training fee options
Training sessions last approximately 60 minutes.
- Full membership up to 4 classes a week £75/month
- Twice a week £69/month
- Once a week £55/month
- There is a small annual (once a year) license/membership fee

11.30am – 12.30pm – Advanced Impact (higher grades)
How long does it take to get to Black Belt?
This is a common question and the answer is simple “as long as it takes”. It absolutely depends on the individuals commitment to training, but as a general rule it can take around 5 or 6 years
